What Should I do if my College Licence is suspended?

What Should I do if my College Licence is suspended?

College licence suspension means they are suspended from recruiting new students. Existing students will remain with the college as long as the licence is not withdrawn

My analytics shows that the entrant keywords for this web site are closely related to suspended colleges, which in turn reflects that popular demand is to keep a tab on their college’s current status.

During the past this blog had focused more on education policies in UK and immigration regulations in general but In order to cater to the demand based on analytics and popular queries, from now onwards this blog will be focusing more on student immigration matters, college regulations and hot topics such as suspended colleges

Mentioned below are some popular queries raised by students. In order to understand the consequences of college suspension let us see some sample cases

1. Question: I am a student, from India what if my colleges licence is withdrawn, just before i log my application to the VFS

Answer: If your approved education provider’s licence is withdrawn, your visa letter (CAS – Confirmation of acceptance of study) will become invalid and you will not be able to use it to support any application for

leave to come to the United Kingdom. Any applications made using an invalid CAS will be refused.

2. Question: I am a student at BITE, My college licence is suspended what I should do ?

Answer: Your query does not mention when your leave to remain (LTR) ends, Hovwer with the limited information I assume you have enough LTR
Refer my latest post on Suspended Colleges in UK 2011as to how to find out whether your college’s licence is re instated or not

In short you need not do anything, Wait and hope that they will be back sooner..!

3. Question: Hello i am doing my MBA and i am left with my dissertation which i need to submit on august 12 2011 however my college is in suspension and my visa is going to get expire on 31july 2011, what do i do? do i have extend my visa from some other college or can apply from the same college which is suspension. since i had spoken in my college with regards to my extension they says, they won’t be able to provide CAS letter until college return to tier4 sponsor list, so kindly advice me what should i do. can i take conditional letter from college and apply for the visa

Answer: If your suspended college cannot issue a new CAS (to make possible you to renew your visa) you have to find another college! And apply for a fresh visa

4. Question: My College is not in operation, initially the licence was suspended and recently they have closed down the college

Answer: It looks like your college licence was suspended and consequently withdrawn by UKBA. They will limit your permission to stay to 60 days if you were not involved in the reasons why your college had their licence withdrawn

(UKBA will not limit your permission to stay if you have less than six months left. You may want to apply for permission to stay with another approved education provider during this time)

This post will be continually updated with popular queries from you, you can check out frequently to find out further insight here

Hi my name is Selle, I had a problem in my new college, which I haven't started anything. I just recently got my new visa last December 2011 and tried to contact them that I got it and ask them if when could I start on the college, but they said they will inform me, and then I could not contact them after few days. So I decided to come over the college, but the doors lock up and the beside offices told me that they run away. Now I'm so worried if I will visit my son in my country this May, would I have a problem of coming back in the UK even I got a valid visa? Would they still let me in?

hi there, when a college closes, the ukba writes to you and give you 60 days to get another school or to leave the country.IF they have not written to you, they will.So start looking for money because it is an expensive venture.and you will need to do english test.Stay calm and be focussed.your visa is still valid.UKBA will soon write to you giving you options.good look.

Your visa process might delay until ur college is reinstated, usually it is the case.
You will have to just wait until the UKBA informs u of any update.
They might ask u to get a CAS from a different college but u will have to wait it may take a while...
Hope this helps ... All the best

hi sir,
my college was suspended before summer vacations 2011 and after vacations regular classes were held and i registered myself for ABE exams and in November college was reinstated i sat for exams but after 2 weeks college was again suspended so we had winter holidays and in last week of February2012 result was out and i passed all modules and college administration combined all the classes like ACCA,ACP and business management(ABE) i was really depressed students were coming to college for only attendance so i went to student administrator he told me that their case is submitted to court and they have a hearing in DEC 2012 so i tried contacting many highly trusted colleges and some Universities but new session was starting from September 2012 so i came back to Pakistan so could you please guide me about the chance of getting a new visa(FROM PAKISTAN) and i have already got offer letter from a university what is your opinion about my situation Sir your guidance is highly needed

Education For All said...

Dear Ali Khan,

As it is still PBS and an Interview(Interviews r to be held only for Pakistani applicants, may be expanded to other countries in near future), it should not be a problem, during the interview, if you are scrutinized, you can present your case (academic progress and your commitment to studies,etc..)

hope all works well

Education For All said...

Dear Awan,

By the time of renewal (further leave to remain/ when you applied for PSW)you were here legally, there fore it should not affect your visa application

Hope this helps ... All the best

Dear Mr. Rushdy,
My name is Fahim Razaq. I have got admission in MA-International Business Management in Bradford College University Center which is one of the largest Government funded college of England. I received CAS on 21st June 2012 after paying full course fee. After getting CAS I submitted my visa application to UK Home Office on 26th June 2012. Now I have come to know that Bradford College is not in the list of UKBA Registered Sponsors but when I submitted my application for visa it was in the list of UKBA Registered Sponsors. Would this matter affect my visa application?
I really need your guidance and help.
Thanks,
Faheem

Education For All said...

Dear Fahim,

It should not affect your application, some times they might request to find a new valid sponsor, in any case you will have to wait for the response from the UKBA to proceed further

Dear Fahim,

You query was not noticed due to the bulk of queries (not all the queries are published)

Bradford College University Center is still not re instated (as of 26th July, 2012)

UKBA might delay processing your visa until the college is re instated.

If not they might request to you to find another sponsor or might unfortunately refuse your visa. In such an instance you will be always be given the right to appeal against your decision in the tribunal and the outcome would most likely be in favor of you and may not need to go to upper tribunal/get delayed as it is not your fault

Hi
my name is balbir. I have a problem with my college (bradford college). I had to submit one assignment i august as my tutor told me. but later on he said you had to submit in june as your first submission and you have been missed first chance. I asked him that, you had told me to submit this assignment in august as my first chance and now you are saying it was your second submission and you are failed.
He didn't tell me what happened and college asked me for fees. I tried to talk to head and other tutors and I also talked to student union but they didn't listen me and said we can't help you in this matter.
I have been paid my full degree fees and spent 2 years. my college withdrawn me from the course without sort out this issue. International center's head and manager didn't try to help me. they said you have pay, that's is.
I was disagree and they withdrawn me from the course.
There are 2 other students as well who are withdrawn from the college.
I want to know what can I do now I got some proofs as well. But my visa going to expire in January. If I do case against the college what will happen with my visa.
Please reply soon if anyone got any kind of information about my issue
Thank You.

I been to manager and head of international center and told them but, they said we can't help you and you have to pay now £1000.
I said I am not ready to pay because its not my fault. they said you have to pay or we will not enroll you.
I didn't pay and they withdrawn me from the college. I have been paid full degree fees (£9300). I said I want to talk in a meeting with all of you but they refused my request.

I am Md.Rifat Zaman I was in London before with tier 4 General student Visa which is valid from (10/05/2011 to 14/03/2015) I went to London in 31st of May in 2011 but unfortunately My college license has been revoked By UKBA in September 2011 that is why I came back to my country in 18 October 2011.
So my questions is if I want to go to UK again can I go there with a new CAS letter from an highly trusted college because still I have visa or what will be the Process??

Education For All said...

Dear Mohamed Rifat Zaman,
First of all you will have to check that your initial college licence is still valid, if so your Visa is technically valid, meaning you can travel back to UK, it is advisable to get a letter from your college mentioning you are a student of that college before you travel back, once you are here you may apply to another college for a CAS and extend your visa.

Else

If your college is still suspended, you will have to make a fresh application from a new college and obtain a CAS and apply for visa

It is highly risky to travel back to UK if your college is suspended

Hope this helps
